1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UPSC OS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. By creating an account or signing in, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of Service

UPSC OS is an AI-powered study management platform designed to help aspirants preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination. The Service provides tools including but not limited to:

  • AI-generated daily study plans and task scheduling
  • Syllabus tracking and progress mapping
  • Practice questions and mock test simulations
  • AI-powered Mains answer evaluation
  • Current affairs digests and concept verification
  • AI mentor chat for study guidance
  • Performance analytics and revision scheduling

3. No Affiliation with UPSC or Government of India

UPSC OS is an independent, privately operated study tool.It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Government of India, or any government body, coaching institute, or official examination authority. The name "UPSC OS" refers to an "Operating System for UPSC preparation" and does not imply any official association.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Significant portions of the Service's content are generated using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including Google Gemini. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful content, AI-generated outputs — including but not limited to mock questions, answer evaluations, study plans, current affairs summaries, and mentor chat responses — are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or error-free.

Users should independently verify important facts, legal provisions, historical dates, and other critical information from official sources such as UPSC notifications, NCERT textbooks, and authoritative reference materials. The Service is a supplementary study aid, not a primary source of examination content.

5. No Guarantee of Exam Results

UPSC OS does not guarantee any specific exam results, scores, ranks, or selection outcomes. The Service is a study management and practice tool. Success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination depends on numerous factors beyond the scope of any study platform, including individual effort, coaching, aptitude, and examination conditions. No representation or promise of results is made.

6. User Accounts and Responsibilities

When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute copyrighted third-party test series papers, PDFs, or proprietary solutions without authorization
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data or content from the Service
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service's content without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful material

8. Intellectual Property & Nominative Fair Use

The UPSC OS platform, including its design, code, branding, AI models integration, and original content, is the intellectual property of UPSC OS and its developers. All rights are reserved.

Past Year Questions (PYQs) reproduced within the Service are sourced from publicly available UPSC examination papers, which are government documents. Their inclusion is for educational and fair-use purposes under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.

Third-party coaching names, test series labels, and trademarks (including but not limited to Vision IAS, ForumIAS, Vajiram & Ravi, Insights IAS, GS Score, Next IAS, Shankar IAS, Rau's IAS, Drishti IAS, and others) referenced in test performance logs remain the exclusive property of their respective proprietors. Their mention within UPSC OS is strictly for descriptive, nominative fair use under Section 30(2)(d) of the Trade Marks Act, 1999, solely enabling candidates to categorize their own self-reported offline test scores. UPSC OS does not claim any ownership in such marks, does not host, reproduce, or distribute third-party proprietary question papers or keys, and is not affiliated with or sponsored by any third-party institution.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UPSC OS and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

In no event shall the total liability of UPSC OS exceed the amount paid by you to UPSC OS in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or ₹500 (Indian Rupees Five Hundred), whichever is lower.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users or the Service, or for any other reason.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the revised Terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
